There was another table with 2 men. They got all the attention; their water glasses got refilled while I had to ask for it again. Service was very slow (I wonder if the waitress was the cook too?) We had a restaurant.com and gave it to the waitress in the beginning but she then forgo to add it to our bill.
My wife's lobster could have been fresher
We like LVI very much and eat there qite often. The food is always very good and we also like the fact that is quite....we can hear each other speak which is important to us.

My husband usually gets wiener schnitzel with red cabbage and potato pancake, which is his favorite, and one of their German specialties. It's always good. Salmon was also tasty. Waitress was able to give extra vegetables instead of a starch, change the lettuce to all romaine. Salad dressing came on the side as requested. Service was very good-waitress pleasant, busboy filling up water timely and bread basket containing garlic bread and asst'd rolls were very tempting.

The food is very tasty. Perfectly prepared and reasonably priced. The waitress was attentive and service very good. We ate in the bar area. There are blackboard specials served in this area as well as at the bar. Good selection. There is also a quieter dining room where you can talk. The food is a little more here but worth it when you want that atmosphere.
A stale smell in restaurant. Veal very tough and nervy. Wife salmon had bones in it. Never filled water glasses.

The ambiance and service was great! The attention to making sure we were satisfied and had everything we needed was awesome. Live music and being apart of the German culture for the evening was out of our comfort zone but the feeling of being apart was welcoming.

I'm very pleased that the LVI has the smarts to offer prosecco on their wine list. When it's a million degrees out, like today, it's wonderfully refreshing. The salad is terrific and the main courses are always delicious and filling.
We had to eat in the bar area and it was a little noisy. A group of regular's, I think.

Food is always great at LVI....we had lobster appetizers as dinner....terrific...someone had soft shell crab...delish!!! Service is always, always terrific. Both servers last evening were so accommodating and make dining so pleasurable.

Atmosphere is comfortable we sat in the bar area, waitress was wonderful and food is consistently yummy.
We very much enjoyed our meal and the attentiveness of the staff. It was Saturday night, so we could enjoy the music from the bar area. The owner actually came over to offer us a complimentary after dinner drink.

LVI Bistro is one of the best restaurants on Long Island. The menu is amazing featuring many specials. The food is always prepared to the highest standards. And the staff is professional.
The veal dishes were always great (over years). The past few months it was not as tender as it used to be. Will not order it again.
WHAT A GEM! I never knew this restaurant existed! The food was wonderful! I will deff go back! I even will consider this restaurant for my engagement party!
