We love the service and food Our favorite go to place for Indian food
The server was constantly disturbing us making us feel uncomfortable
the food was delicious and good-sized portions. I ordered samosa as an appetizer and received 2. My daughter ordered her usual Tandoori Chicken Tikka which was perfectly cooked, large piece of chicken breast on a bed of delicious buttery sautéed onions. My husband ordered Channa Masala and I ordered Saag Paneer which were delicious. The butter naan was fresh and tasty. A wonderful and satisfying meal. We will definitely be returning !!
The food was salty and we had to return it back but most shocking part was when they brought the new one it was still salty.
Excellent selection of north and south Indian dishes with good flavor and large portions.
The server needs to give us a choice of the level of spice to the food.
Hello this place was unique. Has no parking so that is why I gave it a four. The food was well prepared and the flavors marinated well with what I choose to eat. If you are dairy free or gluten free they have choices that will impress your palate.
We tried lots of different things. Everything was fantastic.
Not as expedient or clean as thought. Parking was an issue

The restaurant was a cute building tucked in Pittsburgh. It was a small setting and there was a lunch buffet.
good food
great buffet, small but good selection.
The wait for ordering and to get the food and the check was longer than it should be. Otherwise, we enjoyed our visit!
Food is a little salty. Not much Indian spice flavor.
more vegan dishes please!
Great food as always. They were a little busy and could use more waitstaff.
Food taste was so yummy... best South Indian style restaurant...
An authentic South Indian food in Pittsburgh ! We loved and enjoyed it!
thank you to server who so patiently answered all questions!
Best food in Pittsburgh!!! Best service in Pennsylvania!
We always have a great experience at tamarind. The food is awesome, the staff is friendly and the service is exceptional.
Very fine ambience and tasty dishes.
I lived in India for a while and this is the most authentic Indian food we have found in the US.
one of the dishes was very salty and although they made it again, it was still too salty. The amount of food for the price was a little light
The food was not good and the staff was not great
Menu choice is limited. Pricy for he amount of food given. Quality of food is good.
Service was good. Food could be more flavorful, especially the curry with coconut milk and mixed vegetables lack of coconut flavor and didn't have very many vegetables other than green peas and cauliflower.
Your food is very good most times. During our previous experience, the shrimp tasted real fishy in the shrimp vindaloo and during this visit, the chicken in the chicken tikka masala and chicken vindaloo was dry.
The restaurant is a remodeled home very quaint and comfortable.
Friendly and attentive service, very good food. This restaurant was recommended to us by an Indian friend. It was a bonus that they participate in Restaurant.com.
Waiting area needs to be better organized. At least a LARGE SIGN that states that "Please wait here, some host will contact you shortly" - will be appreciated. Also, the sever did not answer the question correctly about the amount of biryani needed and did not mention about rice being served with entree. So we ended up ordering excess food
We regularly enjoy both the food and ambiance here. Their Palak Paneer is the best in the city IMHO. (Very creamy with yummy ghee)
A friend's first time eating Indian food and it will not be his last.
We love the atmosphere, the friendly waitstaff, but mostly the great food.
Nice and tasty food
Setting was comfortable, lots of natural light, in what used to be a house. The service was professional and friendly, the food was delicious and affordable.
The food was delicious. Great quality. Servers were very friendly and attentive. Kept our water filled. Nice atmosphere.
Was at 1742 Wine Bar another time and it was a good experience but this time the food was not up to par and I will not be going back.
We love this place, exorbitant the Palack Paneer which is creamy and delicious.
Good food and friendly people. We went to the buffet, which was good, but no one told us how much it was or asked us if we wanted anything to drink besides water.
The servers were great. The food came fast. One meal was much spicier than requested though.
Discreet & Tasteful service.
The food is just bad. The sauces are runny and flavorless.
The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The tandoori shrimp were huge and the tandoori chicken was moist, meaty and delicious. The portions were generous enough to share.
warm nan was delicious/ vegetables seemed very fresh
The restaurant is in a wonderful old house with lovely wood stairs. We also truly enjoyed our server who is also the manager/owner I believe. Lovely man. Great food as well.
different spices & tastes
Food an service was great.. Great atmosphere.
The service was good and the people were friendly.

Great food, great service, friendly staff
I loved that the waitresses were all pleasant and the restaurant is very unique in the fact that it's in an old house that's been redone.
Very authentic Indian food
Great food!
We could have been served quicker, it took about 20 minutes or more before we received our appetizer. We had multiple servers wait on us. We were complimented with an extra dessert after asking a question about the lack of a key ingredient.
Restaurant is very small. I would recommend making a reservation We went at about 7:00 on Saturday and waited about 1/2 hour for a table. Others who came after us probably waited much longer. Food was goodn but not exceptional; no better than other Indian restaurants, with cheaper prices.
The food was very good.
Good food
outstanding dinner! The best dosas in the city.
outstanding dinner! The best dosas in the city.
We had our two children with us and everyone was so nice to them and to us. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the garlic naan! Food was hot, service was great.
First experience eating Indian food--spicy/savory and delish!
Good food, excellent service, ambiance average. BYOB.
Second-best Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh!
Food was amazing!
Great food! big portion
Food was good, distinct dishes and flavored. Restaurant was clean. Waitstaff courteous and attentive. Other personnel were helpful, pleasant, friendly and cheerful. It was refreshing.
The food is delicious, the staff is great. I go hear all the time, and have never once had a complaint.
the people were friendly, entrees were excellent. We tried 2 different appetisers and one we liked, the other I would probably not order again(just my taste, nothing was wrong with it). Only area for improvement was probably when I asked the waitress a few questions about what the difference was between 2 different bread appetizers since we never had either one before, and she couldn't really explain what was in the dishes or what the differences were between, but it wasn't a big deal.
Very friendly and positive minded.
Below average
good food
Loud music in waiting area. Slow service and food takes a long time to come out. Waitress failed to offer either soup or veggie for side. Seated right in front of kitchen door, constantly being bumped into. Food is above average except for Dosa which might be one of the worst I have ever had.
