The food is excellent. We have gone there for years. Our favorite mexican food restaurant in the Valley. Food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes. Excellent!!
The menu prices did not match what the website for the location stated. They shared that it changed, but that is what they told me a year ago. The food was okay and the employees were not very friendly (more distant). The wait was long even though we called the order in ahead of time.
Love it! Might be too authentic for some but always have a great experience. Great food, nicest people, excellent prices.
The food was good but the seating area is quite small. They were very accommodating by moving booths together for our party of 12.
Great chips with three kinds of dips, a nice free little stew while you wait for your food. Food is fast and tastes fresh and fantastic.
Excellent service (very kind and helpful), excellent quality and taste of food, generous portions with beautiful presentation... We All Loved It!!!!
Excellent friendly service! Generous portions with a delicious variety! Great presentation and Authentic Mexican atmosphere! What a great find! We'll be back!!! :)

Small place but good food. Included taco soup(?) is unexpected extra.

First time there in many many years. Food was good and large portions.I'll be back again.
The owners of this small establishment always make us feel at home from our first visit to the last time we were there. Authentic Mexican food without the trendy and expensive hype.

We arrived around 5pm on a Friday night. Very pleased with the ambiance. There were roughly five tables of customers at that time. Only one waitress and a helper tending to customers. Around 6-6:30 place became much busier. This is when service took a complete nose dive for the worse. They NEED additional Waitress staff during busy times. Waitress was pleasant, courteous overall.Food was delish, decent portions.
We enjoyed the quick service, courteous and attentive server, and the outstanding and authentic Mexican dishes.

Food is always consistently great. Best in town as far as I'm concerned.

Nice, small venue. Ambiance was average. However the food was excellent and the portion size was great. Our server didn't speak much English but that didn't stop her from delivering great customer service. The only thing that me and my girlfriend missed was the dessert - they apparently sold out of their 3 choices !!!
Great waitress. Immediately after sitting down we were greeted with a basket of tortilla chips with two salsas, red and green, pico de gallo, and limes. Next they brought us a cup of chicken vegetable soup. We hadn’t even ordered yet!
The food here is the best Mexican around. The staff are just excellent. Teir tales can be small for 4 people unless you get one of the 2 big ones.
Authentic Mexican food. Portions are huge. Excellent!!
Had a "dinner for two" that was on special. I can't remember what it was but it was amazing. Don't know if I would order it again only because it was so much food.
This ain’t Taco Bell!!! If this is authentic Mexican cooking, which I think it is, it is “interesting” but good. Thie chips are different but good and the amount of guacamole for $3.50 is more that Fogatas for $8. This time we had a meal for two on special. Main combination of pork chops, chicken, shrimp, chorizo (Mexican ground sausage?) and vegetables was served on this raised hot plate with a enclosed hot flame. Things were hot all meal. We each got a side plate of rice, beans, lettuce, whole small onions, tomato, cucumber and orange slices. Also included about 8 flour tortillas. We asked for extra small plates. We also needed a bigger booth/table!! We took about 1/2 home but would definitely get this again.
A quaint little restaurant with amazing Mexican food. Nothing fancy but food is awesome.
Two of us had the steak chimichangas special and one had the burrito. Food was fresh and great flavor. Service was good as always.
Booths only and too tight for bigger people. Food is spiced a little bland for our tastes, but the salsas and hot sauces do pack some heat the way I like it.
Tables were empty and not clean so new customers coming in can sit also service was very slow
Food and service was good. It is a bit of a small place so towards the end the place was filling up.
Very good food
Fantastic food!
The places was very good. The only potential negative was the area isn't the most pleasing to the eyes.
In my opinion the best Mexican food in Kenosha.
The waiter so frequently visited our table that it border on harassment he was great!
Best authentic mexican food in town!
Chicken steak and shrimp fajitas. Sooooo. Good!
Food was very good. Both had shrimp dishes. Good margaritas. Small restaurant w/limited seating space. Cldnt order a drink while waiting for a table. No area to really sit/stand while u wait. Small 5 chair bar area @ which people are also eating. If u don't mind the wait it's great Mexican food.
Love service
Excellent service and the food is AWESOME!
Food was excellent - flavorful and lots of it. Atmosphere was very relaxed. ervers were great.
Service was great and food was very good
Wonderful as usual
The food is awesome, we share the parrillida for two (smoked pork chops, shrimp, fajitas both chicken and steak, and chorizo; together with sides) and we can't even finish it. The shared jumbo margarita is a value at $14.99 and the guacamole is excellent
Their pricing of items is far more expensive than the restaurants in the area with similar fare and way more than what we've seen on this site or yelp. Our order cost $37 AFTER the $15 certificate was applied and this was for 2 entrees listed for about 12 each, guacamole with chips, and 2 a la carte quesadillas. They're using this restaurant.com service to bring in customers and then charging far above and beyond for their food. Will NEVER go back there.
I've never had better traditional Mexican food. Real Mexican music was playing. Everything was clean and comfortable. Easy parking. No stairs. This is as good as this kind of dining can get.
Made the wrong dish. They had to remake it. Not enough staffing to be attentive. Took foreverjust to let her know my order was wrong. Food was also too salty.
So delicious!! The service was excellent.
So delicious!! The service was excellent.
First time I went food was awesome along with the service the place was packed. Second time I went food was old. Bad service even though their was only 2 other customers.
Restaurant was dirty, food was bland, service was slow.
This by far has to be the best Mexican restaurant I have EVER ate at.
The waitress was nice but didn't come to check on us after we got our food. We had to ask for to-go containers while she chit-chatted with someone and rolled silverware. After that, had to ask for the check. Didn't care for the guac. It was mostly tomatoes and onions, very little avocado. Food was decent.
When we arrived (6:20 pm) one carry out order was the only person in restaurant. So for it to take 5-10 for server to come to our table was unacceptable. Ordered fajitas (Steak & chicken w/Steak) food was taste, paid for 1800 margarita which was very sweet and had No taste of tequila. While we finishing our meals the place came to life 4 couples arrived for dinner (7:05) and they must have had 4-5 carry out in the time we enjoyed our meals.
Authentic Mexican food at it's best!! No roomfor desert!
great Margaritas and the food is fabulous
Great food!!!
Well, first off, I would like to say that the customer service was outstanding, it had nothing to do with the waitress she was so nice. This rating is purely due to the food. We ordered 4 plates and a side of cheese. Out of those 4 plates, the only plate that was fair was my fish. I will tell you it was delicious but then they layered it with burnt garlic and I had to scrap that off. My husbands' plate was in correct and we do think it was a misunderstanding but by the time it came, he had already eaten off my other sons plate, enchiladas which was also incorrect because they made it with a sour cream sauce and he had asked for the red sauce. Since the dinner was taking so long, we asked to cancel but it was plated and brought to us and charged. as for my other son's plate, he ordered a burrito with ground beef. It was so greasy it went through the tortilla and was not edible. In fact, the grease flowed into the rice and beans and that became inedible. I did mention this to the waitress and she apologized. But we expected that it would've been removed from the table and not charged. But it was not and we also were charged. My husband didn't tell me about the bill until we left the restaurant driving back to IL. If not I would've paid for the fish and the enchiladas plus the two sodas. I really think the restaurant should refund us some of the money. Hopefully, they will read this comment and do so.
Delightful
Great service, probably overall the best mexican food I've ever had
Fast, courteous service. Friendly and welcoming staff. Plus overall, just the best Mexican food I've EVER had
Service was slow. Took to long to get our food
Cozy cafe w excellent food and friendly staff
Friendly attentive
Top shelf food and plenty of it!!!!
Those two girls rocked it, AND made sure my order was correct!
Great mex food. Great waitress
Great ethnic food
what a delightful server who brought delicious food in good quantity.
they were short wait staff this visit, so it was a bit less than ideal. The bill after dning certificate applied including tip was $30.00.
Our food was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly but not intrusive.
Cozy place w excellent food. Wonderful waitress
I was not totally pleased with this visit, and did not finish my food. The waitress had a severely red oozing eye. After I ate a portion I happened to see her wipe out her eye with her fingers, and wipe it on her blouse, she proceeded then to scoop refried beans onto a customers take out order without washing her hands. It was gross, I did not eat anymore. We left shortly after that. I doubt I will go back.
Small from the outside, but had flowers and outdoor eating area which were welcoming. Spanish music playing inside over speakers. Presentation of the food was very colorful and appealing. Reasonable prices for tons of food, $2.50 for a huge plate of guac- yummy! Free Mexican fried ice cream for a birthday. 3 types of salsa and yummy chicken noodle soup for free starters. Will go back!
The food was excellent! Our server was a little slow, and seemed to spend a lot of time talking with others at the counter.
Nice clean place.great food tho booths are lil cramped
THE MEAL WAS PREPARED WITH AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FLAIR.
With the fajita skillets, it would be good to put a hot pad on the handle to avoid burns. I sat my fork on the skillet and burnt my upper lip. :( Other than that, we love Los Compadres.
Excellent service always by the two ladies serving to the customers.
the waitress is very sweet, but service is a bit slow
Very authentic Mexican food and drink
The location serves a decent selection of items. I enjoyed the soup that I received with the meal. I was not, however, impressed with the fajitas. If that is something you are looking for go somewheres else to be honest. The enchaladas looked good and my sons Chimichanga was flavorful, but the pricing was rather high for what you got. They also only have soda in cans which can be costly if you want more then 12 oz.
Very good value for the price. Even though we were there for dinner, they let my friend order off the breakfast menu.
Very clean. Were there at busy lunch hr. Waited a while to get our order, but also noticed they were wrapping a lot of orders to go.
The food is great there.
The food is great there.
the wait staff were plenty but talked to eachother more than paying attention to the guests. We waited about 10 minutes for water and the waitress to come to take our order. we were done eating and I had to go up to ask for take out container and the check because they did not come to check on us after we got the food and we were right in front of the main counter so they could see us but they just did not pay attention to those there.
Very good food, generous portions, reasonale prices.
the food was great and the waitress was wonderful
We love Los Compadres.
clean well lit place, excellent food, only booth seating.
Great portions at great prices. Learned about them on Restaurant.com and have been a loyal customer since.
Each meal comes with complimentary chips & salsa (three different kinds) and a cup of chicken soup. The food was good, but the service was strange. At first everything was great! But then we sat there for at least 20 minutes after we finished eating just waiting for the check. We started to wonder if we even had to pay. Finally we got things sorted out, but we were basically abandoned after we got our food.
Good food, good service.
Great waitress!
Other than the tortilla chips being a little greasy, the main entrees, esp. the mixed seafood fajitas were REALLY good. Maybe a little guac served with the fajitas would be an improvement.
The food was good, especially if you like it very spicy. The server was friendly, but she ignored us after she brought the entrees.
Half of my steak was burnt
Awesome margaritas!
nice place but small
Our meal started out with a complimentary cup of homemade soup. Large portions of quality food for the money. The only negative, the music playing in the restaurant was to loud. We were not able to have a quiet conversation.
For $150 out of pocket for food plus $100 certificate, the amount of food was insufficient. Only one main entree was served. Food would of been good if the steak and chicken fajitas was made as two separate entree as I ordered it. Owner of restaurant won't even take my certificate without paying over $100 out of pocket when minimum purchase is already reached. Really I only saved $60 but food was overpriced for the amount of food I received.
salsa was amazing and the food was flavorful!
Surprising diamond in the rough. Food and survice outstanding. Very Authentic. Only improvement would be esthethics..feels like a diner. New tables, comfortable seating and low lighting, would dramtically improve business. Looks like fun summer outside seating. We will definitely revisit. Awesome margaritas!
Very nice little restaurant, good service, good food, overall a very good experience.
The food is always great!
We really enjoyed our dinner. The waitress was so nice to help up make our dinner choices. Margaritas and Pinnacoladas will be ordered again. nummy
Excellent food, large portions. Very nice friendly staff.
food was amazing, service was also wonderful.
Wonderful, authentic Mexican food.
