We both had a fish dish and it was perfectly cooked.

Nice place. Good Italian food, each with a little different twist. Professional staff. Overall a good night. Only negatives were that my wife thought her pasta dish could have used more herbs and spices. My veal dish could have been a little larger, even the veggies were a bit skimpy. It was delicious though.

The food was good as always..but thought the portion was smaller than usual...Left there still hungry...

Small, intimate setting, very good service. Food was quite good, but not knock your socks off.
Lovely decor, comfortable seating, pleasant lighting and music playlist. Waiters were just attentive enough--not hovering but available at the right time. Meal was delicious, generous portions, nicely presented. Extra touches appreciated--complimentary bruschetta, shared appetizer plated separately for us in kitchen, complimentary biscotti and cookies.
Our service was EXCELLENT! Our meal was fabulous...highly recommend. The atmosphere was very conducive to our party having a nice conversation and meal. Thank you.
We ate breakfast there for the first time. It was ok. Menu should include biscuits and gravy. While there I heard two other people ask for that. It was very very cold in there. I had short sleeves on and had to use my husbands and my own napkin to cover my arms. Went there for dinner and everything was good.

When we arrived we were told to sit anywhere we like, so we did. After receiving our wine another server said this table is reserved and would we mind moving. Well I did mind we did, but I have to tell you no one showed up for that table and I certainly will not be back even though the food was wonderful.

Total class from beginning to end! The service is superb and the salads and entree choices are wonderful. My veal dish with brown sugar, paprika,and almonds was yummy. My friend chose filet mignon and thought it was outstanding, Dessert....chocolate mousse cake...out of this world! Could not ask for a finer restaurant doe a special occasion, Marcello and his brother were most attentive. Thank you!!!

Way too expensive for quality of food and no ambiance
The place is small and cozy. The wait staff is very hospitable. The food is delicious and beautifully presented.

We highly reccommend La Catena - Appropriate for everything from special occassions to just taking a night in the middle of the week to treat yourself...we've been coming here since their begining, almost 27 years. It's as good as ever - where else in NJ can you still find tableside Caesar salad +++ Love it!

I really didn't appreciate the waiter adding the 18% gratuity to my bill without permission. It was only two people. The waiter was very attentive to the table. There were little nates bugs that get crawing over the lemon that was on the table.

The food was average at best. My wife had a seafood platter and the sole tasted old, frozen, salty...no better than cheap cafeteria quality. I will never return to this restaurant, especially since it was pricey for the quality. The veal that I ordered was very good, but did not care for the sauce.
